The Philippines has several anti-poverty programs and one of which is the Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program or more popularly called 4Ps. It is under the management of the Department of Social Welfare and Development or more popularly called DSWD.
The DSWD leads several programs that were crafted to help the poor Filipino families in different situations. Here are some of the offers of the social welfare department:

Aside from the aforementioned DSWD cash assistance, the social welfare department also spearheads the Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program or more popularly called 4Ps. It provides financial assistance to poor Filipino families to make sure that the children in the family are schooling.
Who are qualified to apply for the 4Ps? The DSWD 4Ps requirements includes both the lists of qualifications for application and a list of documents that must be prepared and submitted for application.
Here are the main qualifications in applying for the Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program:
- member of one of the communities with the lowest average income based on the SAE from 2003
- member of a family with a combined income that is equal or less that the provincial level of poverty
- with children 0 to 18 years old or a pregnant member of the family after the evaluation
The DSWD 4Ps requirements include some documents for application. Here are the documents required by the social welfare department for application:
- copies of birth certificates of all family members
- copies of school IDs or first grading period school report cards of all children in the family who attended school
- barangay certificate / certificate from the municipality
- valid IDs of the family member attending the community assembly
- 2 1×1 picture with white background
- copy of health records of 0-5 years old member of the family from the health center where they have their check-ups
The amount of the DSWD 4Ps cash assistance may vary depending on the family situation. The assitance includes both an education grant and a health grant.
