GSIS EDUCATIONAL LOAN – Here is a guide on who are eligible to apply for the said loan offer of the Government Service Insurance System (GSIS).
Several Filipino households are currently struggling financially due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The situation led to a crisis and what’s even saddening is that a lot of people lost their jobs amid the unfortunate situation.
For several months, many businesses only incurred expenses with no income at all. It led to the closure of several firms which further resulted to a lot of employees losing their jobs.
Many of those who lost their jobs are breadwinners of their families. A lot of them are parents who have children to send to college. The Government Service Insurance System (GSIS) wants to help its members cope with the crisis.
The said state-run agency offers the GSIS Educational Loan. Members may borrow from the agency to fund the tuition of their children who are going to college.
Who are eligible to apply for the GSIS Educational Loan? For a member to be eligible, he or she must be:
- at least 15 years in service
- not on a leave of absence without pay
- having no pending case
- having no past due
- having a net take-home pay of Php 5,000.00 after the deduction of the monthly premium and the loan amortizations
To apply for the said loan offer, the following documents must be submitted to the GSIS:
- duly filled-out application form signed by the member-borrower and duly indorsed by his or her agency’s authorized agency officer
- photocopy of the latest tuition fee assessment form
- photo copy of school ID (front and back) with three signatures of the student-beneficiary.
