Steps on How to Update SSS Monthly Contribution If You’re a Locally-Employed Member
HOW TO UPDATE SSS MONTHLY CONTRIBUTION – If you are an employed SSS member, here is a guide on how you can change your monthly contribution.
One of the Philippine government agencies with millions of members is the Social Security System. More popularly called SSS, it is a social insurance institution that is mostly composed of members who are employees of the private sector in the country.
Meanwhile, not only the local employees in the private sector composed the SSS member populace. There are also self-employed individuals, kasambahays or household helpers, overseas Filipino workers (OFWs), and voluntary members.
The SSS members who have updated and active accounts may qualify for the SSS loans and the benefits that the SSS offers. An SSS membership is undeniably a good preparation for emergency situations as long as you maintain a regular posting of your monthly contribution.
Updating the contribution to the Social Security System is possible but the process is not the same for everyone — most especially for the SSS members who are local employees. Locally employed members cannot change their monthly contribution on their own as it is only the employers who can do it.
It is usually the employers who deduct the monthly contribution from the monthly salary of their employees. Also, it should be made before posting the member-employee’s monthly contribution for the current month.
With regards to how to update your SSS monthly contribution if you are a local employee, here are the steps that your employer can do:

While changing the monthly contribution by themselves is not for local employees who are members of the SSS, there are other members who can do it easily as per the SSS Circular No. 2015-007.
