Maximum Loanable Amount Under the SSS Calamity Loan for the Victims of Taal Volcano Eruption
SSS CALAMITY LOAN – Here is a guide on the maximum loanable amount to the Social Security System (SSS) for the Taal Volcano eruption victims.
Recently, the Taal Volcano erupted affecting thousands of people living near the area. The alert level was even raised to Alert Level 4 and it maintained for several days before it was recently lowered to Alert Level 3.
Several families were forced to evacuate due to the risks that may cross the surface anytime. The local government units prepared evacuation centers for the citizens.
The eruption of the Taal Volcano left several households covered with thick ashes. Many animals also died as the volcano ashfall is risky to all living things – humans, animals, and plants.
Although the risk has lowered, many families are struggling now on how to get back to their lives. Many lost their source of living considering that the thick ashfall has covered most areas near Taal Volcano.
Meanwhile, several government agencies are offering financial assistance to the victims to of the Taal Volcano eruption. It is through loan offers.
One of the government agencies with an offer is the Social Security System. Members of the SSS may apply for the SSS Calamity Loan. Under it, the Taal Volcano eruption victims may borrow up to Php 20,000.00.
Based on a report on ABS-CBN News, the money can be obtained in three (3) to five (5) days. Aside from applying for the SSS Calamity Loan, another offer for the Taal Volcano victims is an advance for the pensioners.
SSS pensioners may apply for a three-month advance. According to SSS spokesperson Fernan Nicolas, the member may also apply for assistance for house improvement or repair. As much as Php 1-million can be borrowed for such purposes.
“Mayroon pa ‘yang kasama na 6 months moratorium sa payment…. Dapat kasi sa miyembro nakapangalan [house],” Nicolas said based on the report.
