Every December, the pensioners of the Social Security System (SSS) are receiving a cash gift or a 13th month pension. It is part of the benefits of the pensioners of the state-run social insurance institution.
SSS is one of the biggest social insurance institutions in the Philippines. Most of its members are workers or employees or private companies thus most of its pensioners are retirees of private firms.
With regards to the SSS 13th Month Pay, it is usually released within the first week of December. Many pensioners await it to cope with the expenses of the holiday season and as well as for their maintenance and vitamins.
Every year, the Social Security System implements a checking of its pensioners. It is done through the Annual Confirmation of Pensioners or the ACOP. Pensions of pensioners who failed to comply with it may be suspended.
Currently, due to the COVID-19 pandemic, a lot of pensions are under a suspended status. The senior citizens are not allowed to go outdoors under certain community quarantine measures that were previously implemented.
According to SSS, pensioners whose pension is currently suspended as per the ACOP requirement will still receive their SSS 13th Month Pay. It is set to be released on December 16.

Bakit po ang pension KO dpa nalabas…lastdec.2019pa po na complete ko lahat ng papers KO.going 62 yrs..old po ako…nag start po ako sa SSS 1976 up to 2018.need KO din po ng gamot at panggastos at babayarang utang….

It is already January 13, 2021 I have not received yet my January pension payment. According to the news in 2019 that said SSS are no longer required pensioners to file for ACOP even though we are not filing the said ACOP? Are we still required to file for ACOP at the SSS office where we are living even in this time of pandemic? I hope SSS willissue a memorandum and sent to us because most of us could no longer get out of our homes because we are prohibited to wander because of this COVID deseases wandering in our world.
