REQUIREMENTS FOR OWWA SCHOLARSHIP – Below are the specific documents needed in applying to be a scholar of the OFW Dependent Scholarship Program (ODSP).

The Overseas Workers Welfare Administration (OWWA) is one of the state institutions in the country that offers scholarships. Its target beneficiaries are the dependents of Pinoys working abroad provided that they pass the qualifications.

One of the scholarship offers of the government agency is the ODSP or the OFW Dependent Scholarship Program. It was crafted to offer financial assistance to qualified dependents of OFWs who earn not more than USD 600.00 in a month.

Who are qualified to apply for the OFW Dependent Scholarship Program (ODSP)

For incoming freshmen or 1st year college student applicants, the following are the eligibility requirements:

  • Single
  • Grade 11 graduate (Incoming Grade 12 / currently enrolled as Grade 12)
  • Not more than 21 years old
  • With a General Weighted Average (GWA) of 80% in all academic and non-academic subjects during the last school year attended in full load

For student applicants who are already in their 2nd to 5th year in college, the following are the qualifications in applying to be a scholar:

  • Single
  • Not more than 30 years old
  • With a General Weighted Average (GWA) of 80% in all academic and non-academic subjects during the last school year attended in full load

With regards to the documentary requirements for the OWWA scholarship application, you need to prepare the following specific documents:

1. Scholarship Application Form
2. OFW Membership Record
3. 2pcs. I.D. Picture with Name Tag
4. At least one (1) valid I.D. of the OFW and/or the Authorized Representative
5. Proof of Relationship to OFW Member i.e. Birth Certificate from PSA or LCR
