EastWest Bank Credit Card Dues May Be Paid Next Month Amid Widespread Quarantine Implementations
EASTWEST BANK CREDIT CARD – The EastWest Bank offers a payment extension on monthly dues for credit cards while the quarantine is ongoing.
The outbreak of COVID-19 has affected almost everything and almost everyone in the Philippines and in other countries with confirmed cases. In PH, community quarantines are implemented to curb its spread.
Previously, the entire Luzon and most provinces in Visayas and Mindanao implement the Enhanced Community Quarantine (ECQ). The non-essential businesses stopped their operations and a lot of people lost their income.
It is only today that some areas are now under a General Community Quarantine (GCQ). Meanwhile, everyone is still reminded to limit outdoor activities to essential matters only.
Also, not all business that temporarily stopped their operation during the ECQ is allowed to return to a full operation. There are still several restrictions under the GCQ but they are for the safety of everyone and to prevent the worst.
Banks are among the essential businesses that continued their operation amid the ECQ under a skeleton system. Also, recognizing that many people lost their income, many banks offered payment extensions on client dues.
Among the dues covered by a payment extension are the EastWest Bank credit card monthly payments. On the official website of the bank, it announced that the offer covers dues between March 17 to May 15, 2020.
According to the bank, a 30-day payment extension covers the said EastWest Bank credit card dues. All areas are covered and not only those under quarantine measures.
EastWest Bank clarified that late payment fees will be waived. Also, it is cancelling interest on interest fees.
