U.S. Pres. Joe Biden Blames Facebook Over Failure on Reaching COVID-19 Vaccination Goal

FACEBOOK – The social media giant reacted to the accusation of United States President Joe Biden against it over COVID-19 vaccination.

Countries are currently in the pursuit of achieving population protection against COVID-19. This coronavirus disease which is shaking healthcare systems for over a year now has cost millions of lives already. Even the World Health Organization (WHO) was surprised by how fast it spread.

Several nations now are in the process of ,vaccinating their citizens. Different brands of vaccines including Moderna, AstraZeneca, Sinovac, Sinopharm, Sputnik V, and Pfizer were developed. Nations set a target percentage of each population to achieve the herd immunity.

The United States is one of the countries with a huge supply of the vaccine. Based on a report on ABS-CBN News, U.S. President Joe Biden targets to vaccinate at least 70% of the Americans by July 4, 2021. However, the administration missed its target.

U.S. Pres. Joe Biden blamed Facebook over the failure of its country to vaccinate 70% of the Americans by July 4. According to the report, the U.S. President accused the social media giant of triggering misinformation by allowing not factual articles about the COVID-19 vaccines to spread.

To this, Facebook reacted. The social media platform denied the accusation that it is the reason why U.S. failed to meet its COVID-19 vaccination target. According to the platform’s company vice president, Guy Rosen, their data showed that 85% of the social media users in the country want to be vaccinated against coronavirus.

The social media giant stressed that it provides the netizens with a reliable information about COVID-19 and the vaccines against it. It also came up with rules in dealing with false claims against the coronavirus disease and the vaccines developed.
