PUMP PRICES – The prices of fuel are set for another increase on October 19, 2021 and the new prices will bear over P1.00 additional from the current prices.

Undeniably, more and more people in the Philippines are acquiring vehicles. It might be a motorcycle or a four-wheeled car. The benefits of having your own car is highlighted even more by the COVID-19 pandemic. You can limit your exposure to the public. Undeniably, bus and jeepney terminals are among the areas with a lot of people.

However, on another side, you must prepare a budget for the fuel. Things may be more costly compared to a public commute.

In the case of public transport, jeepney drivers greatly are affected by the reduced capacity allowed for public transport to pave the way for social distancing inside the public vehicle. Most students and employees also stay at home under a “new normal” situation. Many jeepney drivers are calling for assistance amid the crisis and amid the continuous increase of the pump prices.

In fact, some transport groups are already set to propose for a jeepney fare increase to cope with the situation. They already apologized to the commuters explaining that they sought help from different agencies and proposed ways to prevent a fare increase but they were not heard.
