Permanent Partial Disability (PPD)

Permanent Total Disability (PTD)

- loss of two limbs at or above the ankle or wrists
- permanent complete paralysis of two limbs

With regards to the GSIS Disability Cash Benefit, it depends on the impairment or injury sustained by the member. In the case of members who obtained a permanent total disability, the following are the benefits:
- monthly income benefits for life equivalent to the basic monthly pension (BMP)
- cash payment equivalent to 18 times the basic monthly pension (BMP) if member is in the service at the time of the disability and has paid at least 180 monthly contributions
In the case partial permenent disability, the GSIS member may avail the following:
- cash benefit that is equal to dividing the BMP by 30 days and multiplying the quotient by the number of compensable calendar days of leave of absence without pay (LWOP)
