OFWs’ Secrets That They Would Never Tell To Their Families

There are secrets the OFWs just wanted to keep for themselves rather than tell them to their families here in the Philippines

Do you know that OFWs have their own secrets that they wish their families will never know about it?

Based on the article published in kami.com.ph just recently, there are things OFWs wanted to hide from the people whom they support and work for.

Their families back here in the Philippines always expect to have big balik-bayan boxes at least once every year.

It is expected that those boxes will be filled of chocolates, new clothes and shoes, toys for the little ones and stuff for every member of their household.

On the other hand, the Filipino workers abroad may experience these things that their families may not know of.

OFWs are not millionaires. They work very hard to earn their salary, so don’t feel bad if they have nothing to give or lend you.

Every balik-bayan boxes they send or bring home is the fruit of their everyday labor and it is a possibility that they might skip meals sometimes just to fill the box or they would just eat eggs or noodles to save extra money.

They also observe the “bawal magkasakit, bawal umabsent” policy in order that their salary will not be deducted.

There are those who also work extra jobs or extra shifts just to provide more for their families and on their day off, they usually take advantage of the time that they could sleep for longer hours instead of going to the mall.

They also misses the Filipino foods such as sinigang and adobo and watching Pinoy teleseryes every night.

If only they have a choice, they would want to stay with their families here in the country rather than to be away from them especially during special occasions.

OFWs just keep deep inside them the longing they have for their love ones and it is agonizing for parents not to witness the growth and milestones of their children, based on the article.
