The different assistance offers of the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) may bear individual and specific qualifications for application but, in general, the applicant must be:

- at least 18 years of age
- having a valid ID
- having a proof of income

- Step 1 – Go to the main office or branch of DSWD nearest to you and ask for a copy of the documentary requirements needed in applying for the specific assistance you want to apply for.
- Step 2 – Submit the documentary requirements.
- Step 3 – According to DSWD, you will be asked to attend a short briefing where the program would be briefly discussed.
- Step 4 – After the briefing, you will be asked to fill in the application form.
- Step 5 – Once your application for assistance is approved, you will receive the grant or aid from DSWD.
