SSS Calamity Loan Offer Now Open for Member Applications

SSS CALAMITY LOAN – Members of the Social Security System may now apply for this loan offer and borrow up to Php 20,000.00.

In the Philippines, one of the biggest social insurance institutions is the Social Security System. It is more commonly called as SSS by the public.

Most members of the SSS are workers in the private sector or in private firms. Some members are self-employed individuals while others are voluntary members of the institution.

If you are a member of the SSS, you will have to remit a certain amount monthly to the social insurance institution. Members may be eligible for the loan and benefit offers depending on their total contribution.

SSS Calamity Loan

One of the offers of the Social Security System is the SSS Calamity Loan. Based on a report on ABS-CBN News, amid the COVID-19 pandemic, members may now apply for this offer and borrow up to Php 20,000.00.

According to SSS Media Affairs Team Head Maria Cecilia Mercado, the SSS members may apply for the loan offer online. Another option to skip personal application to the branch is through the SSS mobile app.

Based on the report, the member must have paid at least 36 monthly contributions to be eligible to apply for the SSS Calamity Loan offer. Also, the member must have not claimed any final benefits such as the retirement or total disability benefit.

According to Mercado, SSS members may apply for the loan offer until September 14, 2020. Previously, it was only set until June 30.

OFW/Previously before working abroad I have open my SSS in Pasay City Branch with an old SSS nos.unfortunately my start of work was away from the city where I can ask the Philippine consulate of how I can continue my monthly contribution because my work was in the desert of Saudi Arabia until I forgotten it.My question,can I continue it to find my name and pay whatever I missed for the past year? How and where shall I go to be a contributor again?Thank you.

  9. i am teaching in a private school here in Poblacion, Magsaysay, Misamis Oriental. I am a regular member of SSS for so many years. In times of pandemic, crisis arise as to suffice our daily necessities. Thus, can I apply for a calamity loan in your institution. I am living in region 10 and remitted our monthly contribution at Gingoog City Branch. Thanks
