Guide on SSS Calamity Assistance Package Offers for Victims of the Typhoons
SSS CALAMITY ASSISTANCE PACKAGE – Here is a list of the upcoming offers of the Social Security System for the victims of the recent typhoons in the Philippines.
Several typhoons have recently entered the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR) and brought massive rains in several areas in the country.
Among the notable tropical storms this year were typhoons Rolly and Ulysses. The former was eyed as the strongest typhoon in the country this year. However, Ulysses also had a huge impact.
Many areas hit by Rolly were also hit by Ulysses while these areas were still recovering from the impact of the former. Ulysses triggered flooding in several cities and provinces.
Catanduanes was faced with flood and landslide while residents in Marikina City and Rizal climbed their rooftops to escape from the rising water level. Cagayan province was also submerged in deep flood.
A lot of people are in need of help right now following the impact of the tropical storms. The Social Security System (SSS) is one of the government institutions that came up with offers to help some of the victims of the typhoons.
The state-run institution came up with the SSS Calamity Assistance Package. The scheduled start of the said offer is November 27 and it is open for SSS members and pensioners who are living in areas declared under State of Calamity.
What are the offers under the SSS Calamity Assistance Package? The state-run government institution is planning to offer the following:
- Calamity Loan Assistance Program
- Three-month Advance Pension for SS and Employees’ Compensation Pensioners
- Direct House Repair and Improvement Loan
According to SSS, the offers will be until February 2021. The state-run institution is set to issue further guidelines about the offers under the calamity program soon.
