SSS LOAN FOR TYPHOON VICTIMS – Here is a guide on the number of contributions required by the Social Security System in applying for its Calamity Loan offer.

Recently, the Philippines was hit by two strong typhoons that caused a lot of damages and took lives in the different areas in the country. Many areas were still recovering from tropical storm Rolly when Ulysses entered the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR) and brought strong rains.

Catanduanes suffered from rockslide and flooding amid the onslaught of Ulysses. In Rizal, many residents had to climb their rooftops to escape from the rising water level.

The same scenario took place in Marikina and Cagayan. The water level rose so residents had to go up their rooftops as even the second floors of some houses were reached by flood in some areas.

SSS Loan For Typhoon Victims

To help the victims of the typhoons, the Social Security System launched a calamity package. The victims may borrow money from the social insurance institution for an assistance in their recovery.

Many people lost their homes and their source of living to the typhoons that brought flooding. A lot of the victims are staying in evacuation centers now as they have nowhere to go to.

For SSS members, they may apply for the SSS loan offer for typhoon victims. To qualify, the member must have contributed at least 36 monthly contributions. According to SSS President and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Aurora Ignacio, the member must have no missed obligation.
