Details about the SSS Calamity Loan Assistance Program for Victims of Earthquake in Abra
SSS CALAMITY LOAN ASSISTANCE – The Social Security System (SSS) opened its calamity loan assistance package to help the earthquake victims.
Memberships to the different government agencies are among those that you can turn to in times of financial need – most especially when unexpected situations arise. In the Philippines, there are several government agencies that you can apply membership for and one of them is the Social Security System.
More commonly called SSS, the Social Security System is a state-run social insurance institution where most people who are working in the private sector are a member. Also a huge part of its members is self-employed individuals or those who ran their own businesses.
Meanwhile, the SSS also offers voluntary memberships for government workers or employees who want to be a member of social insurance institution. Every month, members contribute a certain amount to SSS as savings depending on their salaries.
Accumulated SSS contribution can qualify a member to the offers of the social insurance institution. These offers include loans and benefits.
Recently, the Social Security System activated its calamity assistance package which includes the SSS Calamity Loan Assistance Program and the three-month advance pension for pensioners. The offer was activated after a 7.0 magnitude earthquake in Abra affected a lot of people.
The strong quake led to damage to several public and private properties not only in Abra but also in several other areas affected by the quake. A lot of families lost their homes and are now staying in evacuation centers. State of Calamity was declared in Abra.
According to the report, the Social Security System did not disclose the amount they allotted for the SSS Calamity Loan Assistance Program and the 3-month advance pension for pensioners. The offer is open to members who are working or residing in areas under the State of Calamity.
