CODING WINDOW HOURS 2023 – Here is a complete guide for the drivers in Metro Manila with regards to the time they can drive freely amid the number coding system.

Heavy traffic is one of the huge challenges in Metro Manila. That is why the Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) continuous implement the number coding system. This reduces the number of private vehicles on the road by not allowing certain vehicles to be on the road at a specific time.

The MMDA implements the Modified Unified Vehicular Volume Reduction Program. Also called the UVVRP, under it, private vehicles have a specific time in a week wherein they are not allowed to be on the road based on their plate numbers.

Manila

In Manila, the implementation of the number coding is between 7 AM to 10 AM and 5 PM to 8 PM. However, a lot of roads in the capital city of the country have no window hours.

Pasig

The city of Pasig follows the coding hours implemented by the MMDA. Coded vehicles are not allowed on the road from 7 AM to 10 AM and 5 PM to 8 PM.

Makati

In Makati City, the scheme applies from 7 AM to 7 PM. There are no window hours for all types of coded vehicles except those driven by senior citizen Blu Card holders, those carrying passengers who are senior citizen Blu card holders, and those who are involved in medical emergencies.

Pasay

The city of Pasay also follows the 7 AM to 10 AM and 5 PM to 8 PM coding implemented by the Metro Manila Development Authority . However, the city exempts several major roads from the scheme such as the following:

  • some areas in Airport Road

  • some areas in Gil Puyat
  • Domestic Road

Quezon City

Like several other cities in Metro Manila, Quezon City also follows the MMDA coding schedule — from 7 AM to 10 AM and from 5 PM to 8 PM. The coding window hours is from 10:01 AM to 4:59 PM.

Caloocan

The number coding system in Caloocan is from 7 AM to 10 AM and 5 PM to 8 PM with an exception — the Samson Road which has no window hours.

Mandaluyong

The coding window hours in Mandaluyong City is from 10:01 AM to 4:49 PM as the city follows the coding hours of the Metro Manila Development Authority (MMDA).

Marikina

Marikina does not implement a city-wide coding. The only roads covered by the coding scheme from 7 AM to 10 AM and 5 PM to 8 PM include a portion of the Marcos Highway near the Sta. Lucia East Mall and the Ayala Malls Feliz.

Muntinlupa

In Muntinlupa, the number coding scheme is implemented along the Alabang-Zapote Road from 7 AM to 10 AM and 5 PM to 8 PM. There is no number coding scheme in Commerce Avenue.
