DOST SCHOLARSHIP REQUIREMENTS – Here are the required documents aspiring scholars for engineering graduate studies must submit to the Department of Science and Technology.

Are you looking for an entity where you may apply for a scholarship offer to fund your engineering graduate studies? In the Philippines, one of the entities that you may turn to is the Department of Science and Technology.

More popularly called DOST, the government agency has launched several different programs that provide different types of scholarships benefitting countless students and professionals.

DOST Scholarship Requirements for Engineering MS & PhD Studies

One of the scholarship programs launched by the DOST is the Engineering Research and Development for Technology or also called the ERDT. It was designed to help engineers who want to pursue graduate studies such as Master’s and Doctoral degree programs.

Here are the DOST scholarship requirements in applying for a scholarship under the Engineering Research and Development for Technology offer of the government agency:

  • duly-accomplished ERDT Application form which can be downloaded thru the ERDT website and SEI website
  • Narrative Essays
  • Recommendation Letters from 3 former professors or supervisors
  • Certified True Copy of the Official Transcript of Records
  • Birth Certificate (photocopy)
  • valid NBI Clearance
  • Medical Certificate stating that the applicant is physically and mentally fit to study from a licensed physician with PRC license number indicated
  • Permission to take a Leave of Absence (LOA) while on scholarship/Certificate of Employment/ Proof of Resignation or Termination of the contract (if employed)
  • Certificate of No Pending Administrative Case (if employed)

Once your application has been accepted, there are additional DOST scholarship requirements that must be submitted. Here are the documents needed:

  • Acceptance Letter/ Notice of Admission from the Graduate School;
  • Approved Program of Study

There are also additional requirements for lateral applicants. You need to submit a Certification from the Graduate School/ university indicating the number of graduate units required in the program and the number of graduate units already earned with corresponding grades.
