The Department of Social Welfare and Development launched the DSWD Educational Cash Aid which will run for six weeks from August until September. It aims to provide cash to indigent elementary, high school, and college students.
The first roll-out of the cash aid was held last August 20. Thousands of parents and students applied for the DSWD Educational Cash Aid. The government agency tapped the local government units for help in the distribution of the educational assistance.
Furthermore, DSWD also told the parents and students that the application for cash assistance will be done online. Several regions have set up online platforms where applications can be made. Here is a step-by-step process for the online application for DSWD Educational Cash Aid:

- Step 2 – Provide the necessary details and documents. The DSWD will assess the applications of all applicants to determine who are really deserving to receive the cash assistance.
- Step 3 – The DSWD will be sending the QR code or a text message confirming the grant. He or she can then claim the cash assistance at the payout center. Bring your certificate of enrollment and a valid ID when claiming the money.
