Guide on DSWD Online Registration for Educational Cash Assistance for Applicants in Region 5
DSWD ONLINE REGISTRATION – Here is a guide on how to register for the DSWD Educational Cash Assistance online for applicants in Region 5.
A few days before the opening of classes in public elementary and high schools, the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) announced its educational assistance program. The six-week program aims to provide financial assistance to indigent elementary, high school, and college students.
Under the said program which runs from August to September, the beneficiaries may receive between P1,000 to P4,000. Members of the Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program (4Ps) are not eligible to apply for the said cash assistance.
However, there were 4Ps members who have already received the cash assistance. DSWD previously appealed to the 4Ps members who have received the cash aid to return it to the agency. However, the call was not heeded.
According to DSWD, they will just deduct the amount released from the funds for the individuals who are 4Ps members but received the educational assistance. It will be done on a staggard basis.
During the first day of the application for the DSWD Educational Assistance last August 20, thousands of parents and students lined up in different branches of the social welfare department. The government agency assured to tap the local government units in the distribution of the cash assistance as they cannot attend to all the applicants due to their large number.
Recently, the government agency spoke about its plan to prioritize the DSWD online registration for educational assistance to be able to cater to thousands of applicants. According to the agency, the in-person applications will be accommodated after the online registrations are released.
