Guide on DSWD Educational Cash Assistance Allowance for Qualified Students
DSWD EDUCATIONAL CASH ASSISTANCE – Here is a guide on the allowance set for high school students.
One of the entities that Filipino parents and students who are in need of financial assistance can turn to is the Department of Social Welfare and Development. More popularly called DSWD, it is one of the biggest government agencies in the country.
Recognizing that a lot of Filipinos are living below the poverty level, the DSWD launched a program that provides aid to the poor Filipino students — the DSWD Educational Assistance.
The Educational Aid of the government agency is open for applications for students who meet any of these eligibility criteria:
- breadwinner
- working student
- orphan or living with relatives
- child of a solo parent
- parents are jobless
- children of overseas Filipino workers (OFWs)
- victims of calamities or injuries
The Educational Assistance offered by the Department of Social Welfare and Development is open for underprivileged elementary, high school, and college students. It recognizes that many Pinoy students across the different educational levels need financial aid.
The DSWD has set different allowance rates for students depending on the grade or year level he/she is in. If you are a high school student or your child is in the secondary education, he/she will receive the following DSWD Educational Cash Assistance allowance:
- Junior High School Student — P2,000
- Senior High School Student — P3,000
The DSWD Educational Cash Aid that the government agency extends to underprivileged but deserving students is in line with the pursuit to help cover the costs of textbooks and other educational expenses of the student.
