SSS LOAN REQUIREMENTS – Here is a full list of the documents needed in applying for each of the loans offered by the Social Security System.

One of the social insurance institution giants in the Philippines is the Social Security System, more popularly called SSS. Millions of Filipinos across the nation as well as thousands of Pinoys abroad are members of the SSS.

The SSS opened its membership not only for employed and self-employed individuals and overseas Filipino workers (OFWs) but as well as those people who want to make a voluntary membership. To keep an updated account, a member must submit a monthly contribution regularly.

Salary Loan

The SSS Salary Loan is the multi-purpose cash loan offer of the Social Security System for members who have posted at least 36 monthly contributions. It is open for employed and self-employed members as well as OFWs.

With regards to the documents needed in applying for this loan offer, the list may vary depending on who will file the loan application.

If the member-borrower will process the loan:

  • duly-accomplished Member Loan Application Form
  • SSS digitized ID or E-6 with any two (2) valid IDs (one of which with a recent photo)
    • Senior Citizens Card
    • Professional Regulation Commission (PRC) ID
    • Seaman’s Book
    • LTO Driver’s License
    • School ID
    • Company ID
    • Voter’s Identification card/affidavit/Certificate of Registration
    • Postal ID
    • GSIS Card
    • Tax Identification Number (TIN) Card
    • Baptismal Certificate
    • Overseas Worker Welfare Administration card
    • ATM card with cardholder’s name or with certification from bank
    • Health or Medical Card
    • Credit Card
    • Police Clearance
    • Transcript of Records
    • NBI Clearance
    • Pag-IBIG Member’s Data Form
    • Marriage Contract
    • Seafarer’s Registration Certificate issued by POEA
    • Bank Account Passbook

      • Office of Muslim Affairs
      • Life Insurance Policy
      • Office of Southern/Northern Cultural Communities
      • Birth/Baptismal certificate of child/ren
      • Certificate of Licensure/Qualification Documents/Seafarer’s ID and Record Book from Maritime Industry
      • Certificate of Naturalization from the Bureau of Immigration

If an authorized representative will process the loan:

  • duly-accomplished Member Loan Application Form
  • SSS-issued Authorized Company Representative (ACR) card
  • Letter of Authority (LOA) from employer
  • two (2) valid IDs both with signature and at least one with photo
  • Member-borrower’s SS card or Application for SS card (SS Form E-6) acknowledgment stub and two (2) valid IDs

If an authorized representative of the employer/company will process the loan:

  • duly-accomplished Member Loan Application Form
  • Letter of Authority (LOA) from employer
  • Member-borrower’s SS card or Application for SS card (SS Form E-6) acknowledgment stub and two (2) valid IDs
  • two (2) valid IDs both with signature and at least one with photo

Housing Loan

The Social Security System has a Housing Loan offer for its members for the purpose of financing a house repair or improvement. You may apply for the loan offer for any of the following:

  • Major repairs, particularly for dilapidated and structurally unsafe housing units;
  • Improvements which shall apply to:
  • Extension or expansion and enhancement of economic and aesthetic value of an existing housing unit. Said improvements shall be permanently attached to the house.
  • Completion of an occupied bare house.
  • Construction of concrete fence and steel gate.
  • Installation of deep well and motor pump.

The requirements for SSS Housing Loan offer is different from the documents required in other loans offered by the social insurance institution. There are collateral documents that may be needed.

Calamity Loan

Also one of the loans offered by the SSS is the Calamity Loan. It is open for qualified members who are residing or working in areas declared under a State of Calamity. Here are the documents needed in applying for the loan offer:

  • duly-accomplished and signed SSS Calamity Loan Application Form
  • Barangay Certification
  • original copy of valid ID card or document
