RENEW LTO CAR REGISTRATION – Here is a step-by-step process for the renewal of your car registration to the Land Transportation Office (LTO).

In the Philippines, among the requirements in driving is that you hold a driver’s permit or license issued by the Land Transportation Office (LTO) and that the vehicle used must be registered at the said body as well.

If it is your first time to apply for a driver’s license, you need to apply for a Student Permit. It is valid for a year and it can be a time when you can practice safe driving more. After a month, you may apply for a professional or a non-professional driver’s license depending on the vehicle that you wish to drive. For the purposes of driving a private vehicle, you may apply for a non-professional driver’s license. If you will be driving a public utility vehicle (PUV), you must apply for a professional driver’s license.

How to renew your LTO car registration?

Step 1 – Prepare the requirements for the renewal of the LTO car registration. You will need the following basic requirements:

  • In original copies:
    • Certificate of Emission Compliance
    • Insurance Certificate of Cover (Third Party Liability)
  • Duly-accomplished and approved Motor Vehicle Inspection Report (MVIR)
  • Early warning device

Step 2 – Go to a branch of LTO and submit the requirements. Go to the counter and submit your documents.

Step 3 – Your vehicle will be under an inspection by the officer. Submit your MVIR.

Step 5 – Get your Registration Certificate, plate, and stickers from the Land Transportation Office (LTO).
