According to PCSO general manager Mel Robles, the assistance coverage for the doctor’s fees may not be able to cover the full due of the patient for the medical services but the PCSO keeps it a goal to be able to enhance its assistance offer further for full doctor’s fees coverage.

The state entity’s General Manager admitted that the current resources of the PCSO is not enough to cover the professional fees in full. During a news conference at the House of Representatives, Robles revealed that many Filipinos seek help in paying for the professional fees of the doctors but they previously cannot do anything as it is against the guidelines of the PCSO Medical Cash Assistance.

With the recent upgrade, any indigent Filipino seeking assistance in dealing with doctor’s fees is assured of an amount that can help him/her. He raised the common situations of patients getting stuck in the hospital and acquiring a bigger hospital bill because of insufficient money for the professional fees of the attending physician.
